Admiral came into our rescue program on June 5, 2010. Admiral is a Beautiful, Dark Bay, Quarter Horse, Gelding. He is estimated to be 15 years of age. Admiral has several severe wounds on his hind legs, which require bandaging every other day. It appears that this poor boy got caught up in a fence and was never treated. He had a sufficient amount of proud flesh growing on his wounds and it was clear that the healing process had stalled. Our Veterinarian had to come out and debride the wounds and get back to healthy flesh. Thankfully, he didn't get any major tendons or joints and he should be able to recover from these injuries. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him. It will take at least 6 months or more of continued stall rest and bandage changing before we will see improvement. This sweet boy needs your help! We are generally available by appointment Monday - Thursday after 5:30 and anytime Friday - Sunday. We do maintain full time jobs, so we are not always available on weekdays. Please be patient with us and we will return your call/email as soon as possible.
