Brandy is a 10 year old Paint Mare. Brandy was also in extremely poor condition and barely able to walk. Her feet were full of abscesses and had not received proper hoof care in a year. She is a sweet mare and the mother of Briscoe. Brandy has received her first trimming and we are still treating all her abscesses. She has a long road of recovery ahead of her. She appears to have some ulcers in her mouth that we will have treated by a veterinarian. Once the case is closed, we will update with more information as well as updated pictures. You can sponsor Brandy for $100.00 a month. Donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible.

Update 2/13/07 - Brandy is recovering very well. She is a sweet girl! Her feet are in much better shape today, she has been on antibiotics to recover from all the severe abscesses in her feet. Her feet are almost back to where they should be. She has had her feet trimmed 4 times. She is finally putting on the weight. Brandy has a current negative cog gins, up to date on vaccinations, de worming, feet maintenance and teeth floated. She will need to be put on a tight trimming schedule to keep her feet in line. Due to our large rescue numbers right now, we don't have the ability to assess each horse to determine their riding back ground. We are very sorry for this! We just don't have enough man power to assess 60 plus horses. Training is available in the Spring and Summer months if needed. If you are interested in adopting Brandy, please submit an application today. You must have an application on file, prior to scheduling a visit with Brandy.
Update 5/3/07 -- We had Brandy's feet X-rayed after many attempts to get her feet back in line. Unfortunately, Brandy has foundered and rotated on both front feet. It appears that she rotated prior to her coming into our rescue program. We have currently placed shoes on her front feet and evaluating her level of lameness. It is suggested that she may require shoes on her front feet at all times. As of right now, we do not know if Brandy will ever be sound for riding. We will continue to monitor her with shoes on and re-evaluate her in 6 weeks. We will update with additional information at that time.
