Devon all pretty for spring   Devon

Devon came into our rescue program on March 16, 2007. Devon is a beautiful AMHR/AMHA, yearling, stud colt. He is very tiny. It appears that Devon has a condition referred to as "leg lock" in miniature horses. His hind leg will lock up and he is unable to bend it. We plan to have him seen by our veterinarian on Monday for further diagnosis and hopefully surgery to correct the problem. We will update with more detailed information soon. If you are interested in possibly adding this sweet little guy to your family, please submit an application. We will also update when is he available for adoption.

Update April 2007: Devon was scheduled and all set for his surgery to correct his leg lock, when he suddenly injured himself on that very leg and tore his legiments. Once again we took more x-rays and noticed the damaged shifted. Devon's original X-rays showed that his knee cap was located on the inside of his thigh, obviously no where near normal position. We are now trying to rehabilitate that leg in order to move forward with his surgery. He is such a sweet boy and very spoiled rotten, if I may say so. Look how beautiful he is now with a shaved coat and looking all handsome. We will update with more information as he progresses. In the meantime, please consider making a donation towards Devon's rehabilitation.
