Becky came into our rescue program on August 24, 2017. Becky came into our rescue program from the Hughes County Sheriff's Office as a cruelty case along with 9 other horses. Sadly, 1 horse we lost shortly after the seizure due to the extreme nature of his neglect. We tried everything to save him, but he was too far gone and didn't have the energy to fight. Thankfully, help arrived in time for the remaining horses. Becky is a Beautiful, Bay/White, Paint, Mare. Becky is estimated to be 12 years of age. Becky has a foal on her side, Keaton. Keaton is a super cute little colt that was estimated to be 3 months of age. Becky is very thin with a body score of a 2. She has a grade 4 heart murmur which is consistent for neglected horses. Becky's poor body condition and neglect unfortunately left her with minimal udder development and no mammary secretions could be obtained. We have to supplement the foal as he is not able to survive off of his mother. Keaton is in poor body condition also, as you can tell he has only been receiving the bare minimum for survival. This little guy wouldn't have thrived without some much needed supplements and grain. Becky's blood work was also elevated in many areas and she is infested with parasites. We will update as Becky and Keaton improve. Please consider making a donation towards Becky and Keaton's Rehabilitation.
