Castiel came into our rescue program on January 23, 2016. Castiel came into our rescue program as an owner surrender along with 2 other horses. Castiel is a Beautiful, Red Dun, Quarter Horse, Gelding. Castiel is estimated to be 2 years of age. Castiel can be a bit aloof and difficult to catch from time to time. Once caught, he is super sweet and loves attention. He is very smart boy and ready for training. Castiel will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time and training. He is just ready for a job and a family to call his own. Castiel is Halter Broke and Broke to lead. He loads in a trailer and stands for the farrier. Castiel has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. Castiel was picked for our 6th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. He was chosen by Youth Trainer Jordan Connelly. Jordan will be working with Castiel for the next 132 days, turning Castiel into a dependable riding companion. Jordan will be going against 4 Youth Trainers in our Trainer's Challenge. We also have 11 Adult Trainers competing in our Trainer's Challenge. Competition is set for May 20, 2017 at the Heart of Oklahoma, Shawnee Expo Center, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Update May 2017 Team Castiel are doing wonderful! They have a lot miles and have been to many clinics from The Mounted Patrol Obstacle Clinic by Bill Richey which he is certified in. He has been to the Buck Brannaman Clinic. He has also attended a Dressage Clinic hosted by Karen Robinson and attended a clinic with Robert Hayes. This is a wonderful little gelding with a big heart. He is going to make someone an awesome horse. Come check him out on May 20th, he is one you don't want to miss.
Update May 23, 2017, Castiel and Jordan are this year's 3rd Place winners of the Youth division of our 6th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer's Challenge. These two did a remarkable job and quite the team! So very proud of Castiel and Jordan for an amazing job well done. Update January 9th, 2022, Castiel has returned to our program at no fault of his own. This handsome boy will make someone an excellent horse. Castiel is now 8 years old. He has been through several Buck Brannaman clinics with his former adopter/trainer Jordan. Jordan is now attending college and just didn't have the time to dedicate to Castiel that he needs. Castiel is super smart. He rides great but tends to act like everything is brand new when worked on the ground. Don't let him fool you, he knows better. Castiel will make someone an excellent horse and is ready to go any direction. Castiel stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. Castiel has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, dental and hoof maintenance.
