Coats came into our rescue program on July 14, 2020. Coats came into our rescue program from the City of Edmond Animal Welfare along with 23 other horses as a cruelty case. This case has been a long drawn out ordeal and we are thankful that we can now prepare these horses for adoption. Many of these horses had a lot of medical issues that we have been treating and taking care of. Reportedly, most of the horses in this case are all Western Pleasure bred. We DO NOT have registration papers on any of these horses. Coats is a Beautiful, Bay, Quarter Horse, Mare. Coats is estimated to be 20 years of age. Coats is super sweet and loves attention. Coats is very thin, with a body condition score 2. Coat's blood work showed her total protein to be elevated, this can be due to dehydration or infection. Glucose was low, that is likely due to poor nutrition. A fecal egg count was done and was negative for internal parasites. Coats has a long recovery ahead of her. We will update as she improves. Update March 2021 This sweet girl is now seeking a forever, loving home to call her own. Coats is a super sweet mare that loves attention. Coats has gained weight and looks great. This sweet girl is broke to ride and will make someone an excellent addition to their family. We do recommend some tune up time in a round pen or small enclosed area. Coats stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. She is easy to catch and usually one of the first to greet you. Coats has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, dental and hoof maintenance.
