Coker came into our rescue program on June 28, 2019. Coker came into our rescue program from the Jones Livestock Auction. We were contacted by the owner of the Jones Livestock Auction asking if we would come assist with a horse that was brought in to sale that was in emaciated condition. The owners didn't want to run that horse through the sale, but they also knew they couldn't let him leave and go back to where he was being neglected. We all made sure to do the right thing, and we waited to bid on this sweet boy. The first 2 pictures are the evening Coker arrived to our facility. The rest of the pictures were taken about 2 weeks later. Coker is a Beautiful, Sorrel, Quarter Horse, Gelding. Coker is estimated to be 22 years of age. Coker is a super sweet boy and loves attention. Coker is emaciated with a body score of a 1. He was Infested with internal/external parasites and anemic. Coker was extremely week upon arrival. These pictures were actually taken about 2 weeks after he arrived. We were honestly afraid he may not make it through the first couple of days. He is slowly getting stronger by each day. Coker has a long road ahead of him. We will update as he improves. Please consider making a donation towards Coker's Rehabilitation.
Update November 2019 Coker is now seeking his forever, loving home. Coker has gained weight and looks great. To be perfectly honest, I did not think Coker would survive when he came into our program. He was completely emaciated and lost that sparkle in his eyes. To say, he amazed me and rebounded so quickly, is an understatement. This boy still has a lot to offer and you can tell he is very happy to have received a second chance. Coker is super sweet and loves attention. He will sometimes take up the opportunity to play catch, but he gives in quickly. Coker is broke to ride. We would recommend some tune up time in a round pen or small enclosed area, as it has been quite some time since he was last routinely ridden. He still has a lot of spunk in him and was very ready to get up and go. He still has a lot to offer and will make someone an excellent horse. Coker stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. Coker has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in giving this handsome boy the forever home he deserves, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Coker.
Coker has been adopted to a wonderful family in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Coker is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in his forever, loving home. We are thrilled that this sweet boy found the forever, loving family he deserves, where he will be showered with love and attention.
