Derby came into our rescue program on April 17, 2012. Derby came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division as a cruelty case along with his mother Zelda. Both spent several months at OKC-AWD while the owner fought the cruelty charges. Derby is a Beautiful, Black/White, Paint, Stud. Derby is estimated to be 1 years of age. Derby is super sweet, very smart, stands for the farrier, loads in a trailer and has such a sweet dispostion. Derby needs to put on a bit more weight before he will be gelded. Once he is gelded, he will be available for adoption. We will update as he progresses. Please consider donating towards Derby's rehabilitation.
Update August 2013 Derby has come a long way and ready for a forever, loving home of his own. He has finally hit a growth spurt and filling out nicely. He is a super sweet boy and loves attention. He is now 2 years of age. He needs to grow a bit more, but ready for training. He is super smart and eager to please. Derby stands for the farrier. Derby will make someone an excellent horse. Derby has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Derby has been adopted to a wonderful family in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Derby is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in his forever, loving home.
