Gentry came into our rescue program on June 20, 2018. Gentry came into our rescue program from the Beckham County Sheriff's Office as a cruelty case along with 12 other horses. Sadly, one died before we were able to get there. Gentry is a Beautiful, Bay, BLM Branded Mustang, Mare. Gentry is estimated to be 5 years of age. Gentry is thin with a body score of a 3. Gentry's feet were in horrible condition and lacked serious farrier care. Gentry is a sweet girl but tends to be a bit aloof. Gentry is halter broke and broke to lead. This case is still pending, and we are waiting for an update from Beckham County. We are praying for a resolution regarding these sweet horses soon. Once we receive word, we will update adoption status. Gentry has a long road of recovery ahead of her. We will update as she improves. Update December 2018 Gentry is now seeking her forever, loving home. Gentry has gained a lot of weight and doing great. Gentry is halter broke and broke to lead. This sweet girl is now ready for training! She will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time and training. Gentry can still be a bit aloof from time to time but with consistency and time, she will learn that daily attention is a good thing. Gentry needs assistance learning how to stand for the farrier. Gentry has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Gentry was picked for our 10th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. She was chosen by Youth Trainer Sara Dickinson. Sara Dickinson will be working with Gentry for the next 130 days, turning Gentry into a dependable riding companion. Sara will be going against 7 Youth Trainers in our Trainer's Challenge. We have a total of 16 trainers competing. Competition is set for May 15, 2021 at Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue's Facility at 21701 East Britton Road, Harrah, Oklahoma. Team Gentry did a great job at this years 10th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainers Challenge. We are thrilled to announce that Youth Trainer Sara Dickinson came in 2nd place with Team Gentry. Both did an amazing job and we couldn't be more proud of this wonderful team.
Update July 2023 Gentry has returned to our program at no fault of her own is now seeking her forever, loving home. Gentry is a super sweet girl. It doesn't appear that she has been ridden much in the last year but she tacked right up and had no issues under saddle. We would recommend a confident rider, as that will help Gentry remain confident also. She's very smart and has a lot to offer someone. She needs a person she can bond with. Gentry is now 10 years of age and stands at 14.3 hands tall. Gentry has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, dental and hoof maintenance.
