Girlfriend came into our rescue program on September 11, 2018. Girlfriend came into our rescue program from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division. Girlfriend is a Beautiful, Buckskin/White, Paint, Mare. Girlfriend is estimated to be 5 years of age. Girlfriend is a sweet girl but tends to be pretty aloof. Girlfriend was not halter broke or broke to lead upon arrival. She is improving but still needs some consistency and work. Girlfriend is a stout girl that is very athletic. Girlfriend has a large sarcoid under her belly that will require surgery for removal. We hope to get that scheduled soon. With the right amount of time, training and patience she will make someone an excellent horse. Girlfriend has a long road of recovery ahead of her. We will update as she improves. Girlfriend was picked for our 8th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. She was chosen by Trainer Kelci Goad. Kelci will be working with Girlfriend for the next 120 days, turning Girlfriend into a dependable riding companion. Kelci will be going against 13 Trainers in our Trainer's Challenge. Competition is set for May 4th, 2019 at the Heart of Oklahoma, Shawnee Expo Center, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. Girlfriend will be available for adoption throughout the competition on May 4th, 2019 through an all day silent auction. Girlfriend is a sweet girl and loves attention. Girlfriend received the surgery she needed and the sarcoid was successfully removed.. Girlfriend has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Girlfriend has also been freeze branded for her protection. If you are interested in adopting Girlfriend, please submit an adoption application and get your pre-approved status, in order to adopt Girlfriend or one of our other Rescued Horses competing on May 4th, 2019.

Available for Adoption on May 4th, 2019 to pre-approved adopters through a Silent Auction. All bids start at $800.00 on the day of the event only. The day of the event will be the only opportunity to adopt a horse with over $3000.00 of training alone, for the starting bid of $800.00. If the horses do not get adopted the day of the event, the adoption fee will be higher once brought back to our facility.

Girlfriend has been adopted to a wonderful family in OKC, Oklahoma. She is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in her forever, loving home. We are thrilled that this sweet girl found the forever, loving family she deserves with her trainer, Kelci Goad, and fiancé, where she will be showered with love and attention.

We are generally available BY APPOINTMENT Monday - Thursday after 5:30 and generally anytime Friday - Sunday BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We do maintain full time jobs, so we are not always available on weekdays. Please be patient with us and we will return your call/email as soon as possible.
