Juana came into our rescue program on January 26, 2021. Juana came into our rescue program from the City of Spencer Police Department. Juana is a Beautiful, Grey/White, Miniature Donkey, Jenny. Juana is estimated to be 9 years of age. Juana was found as an injured stray. Attempts were made to locate owner but no one admitted to owning Juana. Juana was found with a rope embedded in her neck. Not sure what happened but this clearly wasn't something that happened over night. Juana is a super sweet girl and loves attention when caught. She tends to be a bit aloof if not caught. Juana has been a perfect donkey throughout doctoring her wounds. She stood perfectly and allowed everyone to clean her wounds without any trouble. She didn't even require sedation. I think she appreciated everyone helping her. Juana is very thin, body condition score of 2. Her winter coat does not allow you to see her true body condition. She needs to gain quite a bit of weight. Juana's wounds healed remarkably and in record time. She looks great, we just need to get some additional weight on her prior to adoption. Juana is halter broke and broke to lead. She stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. This sweet girl has a long road of recovery ahead of her. We will update as she improves. Juana has been adopted to a wonderful family in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Juana is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in her forever, loving home. We are thrilled that this special girl found the forever, loving family she deserves where she will be showered with love and attention.
