Kirkwood came into our rescue program on March 26, 2013. Kirkwood came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division along with 2 other horses as a cruelty case. Kirkwood is a Beautiful, Bay, Appaloosa, Stud. Kirkwood is estimated to be 7 years of age. He is a body score of a 2, infested with internal/external parasites. He is super sweet and very smart. He is halter broke and broke to lead. Kirkwood has a long road of recovery ahead of him. We will update as he progresses. Please consider making a donation towards Kirkwood's Rehabilitation.
Update October 2014 Kirkwood is now seeking his forever, loving home. Kirkwood is super sweet and loves attention. He has a playful personality and enjoys being with other horses. Kirkwood stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. Kirkwood has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating, gelding and hoof maintenance. Kirkwood is green broke and will require additional training under saddle. He will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time and training. He is very smart and if someone worked with him daily, he will be ready to go in no time. He has a lot of spunk and ready to go. Kirkwood will be going through a training camp with Saddle Up Horsemanship. Kelci Goad will have 6 student trainers that will be working with select horses in our adoption program that are green broke. Kirkwood will receive about 2 weeks of training, which will benefit him greatly and prepare him for his forever, loving family. Everyone is invited to attend the last day of training camp and see the progress each horse and student have made on August 8th. Kirkwood and the other horses will be available for adoption on this day. Kirkwood has been adopted to a wonderful family in Choctaw, Oklahoma. Kirkwood is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in his forever, loving home.
