Kizmet came into our rescue program on December 16, 2014. Kizmet came into our rescue program from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division along with 7 other horses as a cruelty case. Kizmet is a Beautiful, Palomino/White, Paint, Filly. Kizmet is estimated to be 1 years of age. She is a sweet girl and loves attention. She is still a bit on the shy side and tends to be a bit aloof. But, once caught, she is very accepting of attention and willing to learn. She is still a baby and needs work picking up her feet for the farrier. She does load in the trailer. Kizmet is halter broke and broke to lead. We apologize for the wet, dirty horses in the pictures, but the weather was nasty the day they arrived into rescue. Kizmet has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you would like to adopt this adorable little girl, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Kizmet.
Update July 2017 Kizmet has attended a Colt Starting clinic hosted by Trainer Katrina Van Diest with KDF Performance Horses. Kizmet was part of a week long clinic where Youth students learn how to start a horse. She received ground work and saddling. After the clinic, Youth Trainer Halle Barker took Kizmet home where she continued Kizmet's training. Kizmet received about 45 days of training from Halle Barker and was doing great. Kizmet has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you would like to adopt this adorable little girl, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Kizmet.
Update January 2018 Kizmet was picked for our 7th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. She was chosen by Trainer Alexys Kinney. Alexys will be working with Kizmet for the next 120 days, turning Kizmet into a dependable riding companion. Alexys is not competing in our challenge against the other trainers. Alexys wanted to help out and have the experience while working along side Trainer Christa Caho before signing up to compete in our Trainer's Challenge. This worked perfectly for Kizmet, as she was green broke, with to much time off under saddle, and need some refresher training. Although Kizmet is not in the competition, she is still a part of the Trainers Challenge event and will be available for adoption just as the other horses. Competition is set for May 5th, 2018 at the Heart of Oklahoma, Shawnee Expo Center, Shawnee, Oklahoma. For additional information regarding our Trainer's Challenge, please visit our trainer's challenge website and follow your favorite Trainer/Rescue Horse on their journey to competition. Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. Kizmet will be available for adoption throughout the competition on May 5th, 2018 through an all day silent auction. Kizmet is a sweet girl and loves attention. Kizmet has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Kizmet has also been freeze branded for her protection. If you are interested in adopting Kizmet, please submit an adoption application and get your pre-approved status, in order to adopt Kizmet or one of our other Rescued Horses competing on May 5th, 2018.
