Maryann came into our rescue program on June 8, 2011. Maryann came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division, along with 3 other horses as an cruelty case. Maryann is a Beautiful, Black/White, Paint, Mare. Maryann is estimated to be 4 1/2 years of age. She is a sweet girl, loads in a trailer and stands for the farrier. When Maryann came into rescue, she had shoes on all four feet. Maryann is a beautiful horse and once caught she is a sweet girl. However, she doesn't get in a hurry to greet you or ask for attention. She would benefit greatly with someone that has time and patience, that is able to work with her on the ground to gain trust. She has a lot of great potential. Maryann still needs to gain a bit more weight, but she is doing good. We will udpate with additional information as she rehabilitates. Please consider making a donation towards Maryann's Rehabilitation.
Update June 25, 2011 Maryann is still gaining weight but doing great. She is seeking her forever, loving home to call her own. Maryann is broke to ride, we would recommend some tune up time in a round pen or small enclosed area. She seems very calm and doesn't seem spooky. She just needs more riding time. Maryann has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come see Maryann.
Update 01/15/2012 Maryann is still seeking her forever, loving home. Maryann is a beautiful girl, but lets be honest, her personality isn't as beautiful. Maryann is not the most sociable horse and will usually pen her ears when you approach her. She needs someone to work with her on a daily basis, gain respect on the ground and work with her under saddle. I know she will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time and attention. Unfortunately, all she is doing here is eating! Once Maryann is caught, she is compliant and will do what is asked, but her first instinct is to intimidate you in order to keep from being messed with. She is very intelligent, stands for the farrier, etc., she just needs a family to love her and build a relationship. If you think you are the family for Maryann, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Maryann.
Maryann has been adopted to a wonderful family in Perryton, Texas. Maryann is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in her forever, loving home. We are thrilled that this beautiful girl is going to receive the time and attention that she deserves.
