Pogo came into our rescue program on July 30, 2011. Pogo came from a cruelty case in Seminole County. Pogo along with 2 other horses were seized in Seminole County and sent to the Jones Livestock Auction. The other 2 horses sold, but Pogo did not. We were contacted by the Seminole County Sheriff's Office requesting that we take Pogo. We picked up Pogo from the Jones Sale Barn. Pogo is emaciated, body score of a 1, covered in rain rott and has an old injury on his hind hock. Pogo is a Beautiful, Sorrel, Quarter Horse, Gelding. He is esitmated to be 9 years of age. Pogo has a long road of recovery ahead of him. We will update as he progresses. Please consider making a donation towards Pogo's rehabilitation.
Update 01/15/2012 Pogo has gained a lot of weight and looking great. He is now seeking his forever, loving home. Pogo is super sweet, halter broke and broke to lead. He does not appear to be broke to ride. He deserves a loving family to call his own. Pogo has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Update August 2012 Pogo is still seeking his forever, loving family to call his own. Pogo is super sweet and loves attention. He has a willing personality and just needs a family that is willing to spend time with him daily and start training him for a job, whether to be trained under saddle for pleasure, etc., He will make someone a great horse with the right amount of time and training. Pogo stands at 14.1 hands tall. Pogo has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Pogo was picked for our 2nd Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. He was chosen by Trainer Shelby Williams. Shelby will be working with Pogo for the next 100 days, turning Pogo into a dependable riding companion. Shelby will be going against 13 other Trainers in our Trainer's Challenge. Competition is set for May 4th, 2013 at the Lazy E Arena, Guthrie, Oklahoma. Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. Pogo will be available for adoption immediately following the competition on May 4th, 2013. You can have an opportunity to see Pogo in action at our Blaze's Spring Fling Benefit Trail Ride on April 20th, 2013 at Prague Lake. Pogo has been adopted to a wonderful family in Bixby, Oklahoma. Pogo is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in his forever, loving home. We are thrilled that this handsome boy found the forever, loving family he deserves, where he will be showered with love and attention.
