Sandbur came into our rescue program on July 20, 2013. Sandbur came from The Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division. Sandbur is a Beautiful, Sorrel/White, Paint, Mare. Sandbur is estimated to be 4 years of age. Sandbur is super sweet and loves attention. She is halter broke and broke to lead. She tacks up nicely, but we don't believe she is broke to ride. With the right amount of time and attention, she should be very easy to train under saddle. She is very friendly and easy to handle. She loads in a trailer and stands for the farrier.. This special girl will make someone an excellent horse. Sandbur has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in giving this sweet girl the forever, loving home she deserves, please submit and adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Sandbur.
Sandbur was originally picked for our 3rd Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge by Trainer Miranda Noyes. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Miranda will not be able to finish Sandbur for the Competition and requested to bring Sandbur back. We do appreciate the time that Miranda was able to offer Sandbur. It really breaks our hearts for the Trainer and for the horse in situations like this. We want so desperately to see our horses flourish and reach their full potential. In situations like this, we usually try to complete the training ourselves, so that the horse will still have a full opportunity. We received a blessing, when one of the other Trainers competing volunteered their time and training for another one of our rescued horses. It is truly amazing, when a Trainer buys into your program, and understands the importance this challenge brings to our rescued horses. We want to give a huge Thank you Christa Caho for making room in her training program and volunteering her time for one more horse. Sandbur will still have an opportunity to be adopted and reach her full potential. Competition is set for April 26, 2014 at the Lazy E Arena, Guthrie, Oklahoma. For additional information regarding our Trainer's Challenge, please visit our trainer's challenge website and follow your favorite Trainer/Rescue Horse on their journey to competition. Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. Sandbur will be available for adoption immediately following the competition on April 26th, 2014. Sandbur is a sweet girl and loves attention. Sandbur has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Sandbur has also been freeze branded and micro chipped for her protection.
