Sheldon came into our rescue program on August 9, 2011. Sheldon came from the Stephens County Sheriff's Office. Sheldon along with 14 other horses were severly starved and neglected in Marlow, Oklahoma. Sadly, one of the horses seized by Stephens County died within 48 hours of the seizure at the Vet Clinic, due to the extreme neglect she had suffered. The remaining 14 horses are currently in our care and being rehabilitated. Sheldon is a Beautiful, Sorrel, Quarter Horse, Gelding. He is estimated to be 8 years of age. Sheldong is a sweet boy and will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time and attention. Sheldon loads in a trailer and stands for the farrier. He is broke to ride. We would recommend some tune up time in a round pen or small enclosed area, as we don't know when Sheldon was ridden last. We took him to the Shawnee Expo Center during our Trainers Challenge, and he was ridden in the round pen. He did good and the longer he was ridden, the more relaxed he became. He just needs someone that is willing to put the time and attention in to him. Sheldon has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, hoof maintenance and Teeth Floating. If you are interested in giving this sweet boy a forever, loving home, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to visit Sheldon.
