Skippy came into our rescue program on November 28, 2016. Skippy came from the Logan County Sheriff's Office as a cruelty case along with 4 other horses. Sadly, when we arrived on the scene one horse was down, emaciated and had been struggling for quite some time. Nicholas/Nigel only weighed 528 pounds, which was half of his body weight. He was extremely neglected and went without far to long. We was able to move that horse off the property, but sadly lost him early the next morning. We are thankful that the others were removed before they suffered any long term affects and lost as much weight as the beautiful boy, Nicholas/Nigel that we lost. Skippy is a Beautiful, Palomino, Quarter Horse, Gelding. Skippy is estimated to be 23 years of age. Skippy is emaciated, body score of a 2, infested with internal parasites. Skippy is a super sweet boy and loves attention. Skippy loads in a trailer and stands for the farrier. We will update as Skippy continues to improve. Please consider making a donation towards Skippy's Rehabilitation.
Update March 2017 Skippy is looking great and now seeking his forever, loving home. Skippy is a super sweet boy. He is very laid back and doesn't get worked up about things going on around him. He has a wonderful personality with a laid back attitude. We don't typically see Skippy get excited about much or get in a hurry. Until, we put a saddle on his back! Skippy went to all business and ready to go. I am not sure what Skippy has done in his lifetime, but he certainly was ready to go and get the job done. He still has a lot of life left in him and will make anyone a wonderful addition to their family. He is a sweet heart and easy to handle. He stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. He gets along great with other horses. Skippy has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting this amazing horse, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Skippy.
