Thumper came into our rescue program on January 23, 2016. Thumper came into our rescue program as an owner surrender along with 2 other horses. Thumper is a Beautiful, Bay, Quarter Horse, Gelding. Thumper is estimated to be 2 years of age. Thumper is super sweet and loves attention. He is very smart boy and ready for training. Thumper will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time and training. He is just ready for a job and a family to call his own. Thumper is Halter Broke and Broke to lead. He loads in a trailer and stands for the farrier. Thumper has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. Thumper was picked for our 6th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. He was chosen by Youth Trainer Cassandra Ruhlen. Cassandra will be working with Thumper for the next 132 days, turning Thumper into a dependable riding companion. Cassandra will be going against 4 Youth Trainers in our Trainer's Challenge. We also have 11 Adult Trainers competing in our Trainer's Challenge. Competition is set for May 20, 2017 at the Heart of Oklahoma, Shawnee Expo Center, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. Thumper will be available for adoption throughout the competition on May 20, 2017 through an all day silent auction. Thumper is a sweet boy and loves attention. Thumper has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Thumper has also been freeze branded for his protection. Update May 2017 Thumper is doing great and has received some amazing training in several areas. You can watch this video made of the last 120 days of training here: Team Thumper.. Thumper is a kind, sweet, willing horse. His favorite gear is walk and slow, but he will jog, extended jog and lope if asked. He needs a confident rider as he is still young and really feeds off the riders energy. Thumper has been to several horse shows where he was shown in Halter, Trail, both under saddle and in hand, Jr. Horse western pleasure and has done easier equitation patterns. Thumper stalls well, gets along with other horses, knows all the ground work, including easy to lunge, shoe, spray, clip, load, and bathe. Thumper has been in a parade, been hauled to trail rides, and ridden on many back roads. He crosses water, train tracks, bridges, and is not afraid of/or spooky of bicycles, dogs, cars or running kids. Thumper backs and side passes with ease, as well as, has a good whoa. He stands for mounting and dismounting and will even side over to a mounting block. Thumper will also pull a cart, though he would need an experienced handler for this talent. Thumper is only 3 so he can have some young horse moments and would be best suited for an intermediate/confident rider that is willing to continue his training or he would be fine with an amateur rider who rides with a mentor. He is a soft, polite, loving horse. Thumper will make an excellent addition to anyone's family. Come check him out on May 20th!

Update May 23, 2017 Thumper and Cassandra are this year's 4th Place winners of the Youth Division of our 6th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer's Challenge. These two did a remarkable job and quite the team! So very proud of Thumper and Cassandra for an amazing job well done. Thumper has been adopted by a wonderful family in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Thumper is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in his forever, loving home. We are thrilled that this beautiful boy found the forever, loving family he deserves where he will receive an unlimited amount of love and attention.

We are generally available BY APPOINTMENT Monday - Thursday after 5:30 and generally anytime Friday - Sunday BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We do maintain full time jobs, so we are not always available on weekdays. Please be patient with us and we will return your call/email as soon as possible.
