Trigger came into our rescue program on July 14, 2020. Trigger came into our rescue program from the City of Edmond Animal Welfare along with 23 other horses as a cruelty case. This case has been a long drawn out ordeal and we are thankful that we can now prepare these horses for adoption. Many of these horses had a lot of medical issues that we have been treating and taking care of. Reportedly, most of the horses in this case are all Western Pleasure bred. We DO NOT have registration papers on any of these horses. Trigger is a Beautiful, Sorrel/White, Paint, Colt. Trigger is estimated to be 6 hours old upon arrival. Trigger was born the morning of the seizure. Once momma and baby arrived back to our facility they were immediately seen by our veterinarian. Trigger is a super sweet boy and loves attention. Trigger's mom Allie, was in a similar condition as the other mare and foals. Allie was thin, with a body condition score of a 3. Her bloodwork showed she was anemic, which can be due to external or internal parasites, poor nutrition, blood loss, or other chronic health issues. Her total protein was elevated which can be due to dehydration or infection. Fecal egg count was done and strongyle eggs were 300 EPG (moderate shedder) and Strongyloides eggs were present. Allie was a great mom and took excellent care of Trigger. Sadly, due to her weakened immune system she became ill with pneumonia, despite treatment, we lost Triggers mom Allie. Trigger was only 2 months old when she passed away. Thankfully, Trigger had many other mares and foals to grow with. He may be smaller than the others but he is mighty. This little guy is all heart and has a remarkable spirit despite the obstacles he has experienced early in life. Trigger is now only 7 months old. He will need to be gelded prior to adoption. So he will need a bit more time. We will update his adoption status soon. We will update as he improves. Please consider making a donation towards Trigger's Rehabilitation.

Trigger has been adopted to a wonderful family in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Trigger is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in his forever, loving home. We are thrilled that this sweet boy found the forever, loving family he deserves where he will be showered with love and attention.

We are generally available BY APPOINTMENT Monday - Thursday after 5:30 and generally anytime Friday - Sunday BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We do maintain full time jobs, so we are not always available on weekdays. Please be patient with us and we will return your call/email as soon as possible.
