Truffles came into our rescue program on February 13, 2012. Truffles came from Logan County Sheriff's Office along with 15 other horses as an animal cruelty case. 16 Horses were seized from a property holding nearly 105 horses. The 16 seized were in critical condition all a body score of a 1. The remaining horses are now being cared for by the owner in a court order and are closely being monitored. Truffles is a Beautiful, Grulla, Quarter Horse, Mare. She is a body score of a 1, infested with internal parasites, needs dental work and feet trimmed. It doesn't appear that she has received the basic medical care in quite some time. Truffles is estimated to be 1 1/2 years of age. Truffles is very sweet and loves attention, she will make someone an excellent horse. She is halter broke and broke to lead. We will update as she progresses. Update June 2012 Truffles is now seeking her forever, loving home. Truffles has gained a lot of weight and continues to gain her weight back daily. She has been in foster care for several months and the foster family worked with Truffles and the other horses with their socialization, etc., She is now ready for her forever, loving family to call her own. Truffles is super sweet and loves attention. Truffles is small, stands about 14 hands tall, however, she still has a lot growing to do. Truffles is halter broke and broke to lead. She will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time and training. Truffles has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Update August 2016 Truffles is now in training with Adam Miller with Adam Miller's Performance Horses. Adam also competed in our 5th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer's Challenge and placed 3rd in the Youth Division. Truffles is available for adoption and this is a great opportunity to adopt a horse while in training, so that you can learn all about the horse from the trainer. Update January 2017 Truffles has returned from Training and is seeking her forever, loving home. She is a super sweet girl and is doing great under saddle. Truffles is athletic and ready to go any direction you want to take her. She has received around 90 days of training and continues to be ridden here weekly. She is a very smart girl and has an eager to please personality. She stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer.
