Waylon came into our rescue program on August 6, 2016. Waylon came into our rescue program from an Oklahoma Kill Lot. We had to pick up Loretta from the kill pen, which was a mistake, and as we were there to get her, this beautiful boy wouldn't stay away from me. Perhaps he knew instantly that I was a horse lover and perhaps he knew instantly that he had one chance and he took it. There was no way in the world that I could leave behind a horse that so desperately wanted out and spoke to me. So, Waylon loaded in the trailer and came home. Waylon is a Beautiful, Bay, Quarter Horse, Gelding. Waylon is estimated to be 19 years of age. Waylon is thin, infested with internal/external parasites. It is so sad to me how a beautiful, loving, sweet boy, who had shoes on all 4 feet lands in a kill pen. Waylon is a sweet boy and he loves attention. He perks up the minute he sees someone coming into the barn. This sweet boy stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. He has such a sweet, calm personality and disposition. Waylon has a long road of recovery ahead of him. We will continue to update as Waylon improves. Please consider making a donation towards Waylon's Rehabilitation.
Update October 2016 Waylon is gaining weight and looking great. Waylon is a complete love bug, he has the been there and done that personality. He is so easy to mess with and really enjoys the attention. Waylon is broke to ride and the minute we saddled him up and hopped on, his whole demeanor changed. He instantly just seemed to smile. He clearly loves to be ridden and he loves feeling like he has a purpose. I have never seen a horse so happy to be under saddle, as what I witnessed with Waylon. He was ready to go. He necks reins and has a wonderful personality. Waylon will make someone an excellent horse. He still has a lot to offer and would be a great beginner horse. Waylon stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. Waylon has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, dental and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in giving this wonderful boy a forever, loving home, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Waylon.
Waylon has been adopted to a wonderful family in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in his forever home. We are thrilled that this sweet boy found the former, loving family he deserves where he will be showered with love and attention.
