Whiskey came into our rescue program on July 4, 2010. Whiskey came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division along with 9 other Thoroughbred's that were seized, from the owner/trainer, for Animal Cruelty. These horses are severly neglected, most are emaciated, infested with internal and external parasites and lacked hoof care. These babies have a long road of recovery ahead of them. Whiskey is a Beautiful, Bay, Stud. He is estimated to be 2 years of age. Whiskey is emaciated with a body score of a 1. He is super sweet and loves attention. Whiskey has a small hernia that will require surgery once he puts on a suitable amount of weight. We will update as he progresses. Please consider making a donation towards Whiskey's Rehabilitation.
Update 1/10/11 Whiskey is now seeking his forever, loving home. Whiskey is a sweet boy and loves attention. Whiskey is halter broke and broke to lead. Whiskey has gained a lot of weight and looking great. He is still growing and will be a big boy. Whiskey has been gelded and his hernia has been repaired. He has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Update May 14, 2011 Whiskey was picked for our Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. He was chosen by Trainer Scott Skinner. Scott will be working with Whiskey for the next 100 days, turning Whiskey into a dependable riding companion. Scott will not be competing in the Trainer's Challenge, however, he will be training and demonstrating Whiskey during the Competition on August 20th, 2011 at the "Heart of Oklahoma" Shawnee Expo Center. Update August 1, 2011 Whiskey returned from training. Skinner Training Stables placed 60 days of training on Whiskey. Whiskey is doing wonderful and he has already been on his first trail ride and did amazing. Whiskey is going to make someone an excellent horse, whether for beginner or advanced rider. Whiskey is extremely calm and willing to please. He doesn't spook, walks through water, over obstacles, etc., This boy is very impressive and is going to make someone an excellent horse. Update January 2015 Whiskey has returned to our rescue program at no fault of his own and is now seeking his forever, loving home. Whiskey is now 6 years of age. Whiskey is super sweet and has a wonderful personality. Whiskey will make someone an excellent horse. He needs someone to help him gain his confidence back, as he is a bit spooky now, but still has the eager to please personality. Whiskey is a beautiful boy and loves attention. He loads in a trailer and stands for the farrier. Whiskey has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance.
