Wildfire came into our rescue program on July 9, 2011. Wildfire came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division along with 2 other horses. Wildfire is a Beautiful, Sorrel/White, Paint, Mare. She is estimated to be 5 years of age. She is super sweet and loves attention. She stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. Wildfire will make someone an excellent horse. She is not broke to ride, but very smart and eager to please. I'm sure someone could get her started pretty easily. Wildfire has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Wildfire has a laceration on her leg that we are currently treating, as well as, a large abscessed tooth. Once she has recovered, Wildfire will be available for adoption. Please consider making a donation towards Wildfire's rehabilitation.
Update August 2012 Wildfire has had a few complications with her feet. After X-rays, we have learned that Wildfire has degenerative bone disease. She is currently comfortable and doing well, but she will never be able to be ridden etc., Wildfire is super sweet and loves attention. We have decided due to her complications, we feel that it is best that she remain a lifer in our program. She will continue to live out her life here while she is comfortable. Once her bone disease increases and she can no longer be comfortable, we will have to make that agonizing decision to let her go peacefully. In the meantime, we are letting her enjoy life and be a horse. She is receiving lots of love and attention. Please consider making a donation toward Wildfire's continuous care.
Wildfire has been adopted to a wonderful family in Jones, Oklahoma. Wildfire, along with Evita, have found a wonderful home and family where they will be able to live out their lives comfortably in a beautiful pasture. We are thrilled that these two have found such a wonderful family to call their own where they will receive all the love and attention they deserve. It is so nice to know that these horses will be pampered the remainder of their life, despite their physical disabilities.
