Zahara came into our rescue program on February 26, 2015. Zahara came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division along with Zanetta as a cruelty case. Zahara is a Beautiful, Brown striped, Zorse, Mare. Zahara is estimated to be 6 years of age. A Zorse is a cross between a horse and a Zebra. She is considered an exotic. A Zorse is a strong breed and considered 3 times as a strong as a horse. They are NOT for everybody. They are half Horse and half Wild animal, so unpredictability is a big issue here. Zahara is halter broke and broke to lead, but can be difficult to catch. She will warn you, but she will not hesitate to kick. She has a soft eye and can be very kind but she is not for the inexperienced. Once caught, she is a sweet girl and has a willing personality. We are still working with her to see what she knows and what is the best environment/home. Zahara has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations and deworming.
