Ami

Ami came into our rescue program on July 31, 2007, along with 43 other horses that were severely neglected and starved from the Forest Park & Spencer, Oklahoma area. We were called by the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, Forest Park Police Department and Spencer Police Department to assist in the seizure of the 44 horses. Ami is a sweet, Chestnut, Yearling Filly. Ami's foster mom, states that Ami was one of the first ones to approach her (hence her arabic name Aminah or Ami, which means trustworthy). Ami is Halter broke and broke to lead. She gets along great with all the other horses. She loves to graze and has to be called for dinner, as she always has her head down and grazing in the pasture. Ami is seeking her loving, forever home of her own. Ami has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in giving Ami a loving, forever home, please submit an application today. No appointments will be scheduled without a completed and signed application and contract on file.

Update 01-08-09 -- Ami is now a sweet 2 year old and still looking for that forever, loving home. She is a super sweet horse, very smart. Ami's foster home has been doing some ground work with her and she has responded very well. She picks up on things very quickly, such as not pulling on the halter, walking over you when being lead, etc., She is a very laid back horse, nothing seems to get her stirred up. She gets along great with other horses. She is low on the pecking order, but doesn't seem to mind. She is a gorgeous girl with a beautiful mane and tail. She would make someone an excellent horse. She would be easy to train and is ready to have her own family.

Update 6-1-09 Ami has really grown into quite a beautiful girl! She has been through some basic ground work, she has been saddled and has been sat on bareback. She would be extremely easy to train and finish your way. She is a super sweet girl and is ready for that loving forever home to call her own.

Update 1/1/10 Ami was returned by her adoptive family. Ami apparently had some issues with fences, and went through several processes of injuring herself. Ami was returned and we are allowing her to be a horse and just hang out. So far, Ami has not had any issues with the fences and has not injured herself in any way. Ami is seeking a forever, loving home of her own.
