Chip is a 15 +/- year old, Sorrel Stud. Chip was in extremely poor condition upon arrival. His feet were extremely bad and he was shod. We immediately got his shoes off and had his feet properly trimmed. Their is no telling how long he was left with those shoes on. Chip is doing well today. Once the case is closed, we will update with more information as well as updated pictures.
You can sponsor Chip for $100.00 a month.
Donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible.
Update 2/13/07 - Chip has gained a lot of weight and looks great! Chip is scheduled to be gelded this week. He will not, under no circumstance, be adopted out as a Stud. Chip has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and feet trimmed. Due to our large rescue numbers right now, we don't have the ability to assess each horse to determine their riding back ground. We are very sorry for this! We just don't have enough man power to assess 60 plus horses. Training is available in the Spring and Summer months if needed. If you are interested in adopting Chip, please submit an application today. You must have an application on file, prior to scheduling a visit with Chip.
Update March 2007: Chip was gelded on February 16, 2007. We had an opportunity over the weekend to saddle up and ride Chip. Chip is a sweet boy and would make someone an excellent starter horse for a child or adult. Chip rides very well and doesn't get in a hurry. He is such a sweet boy and deserves a wonderful home. Don't let the fact that he was recently gelded scare you away. He is very well mannered and doesn't pay attention to the other horses while you are working with him. He is very mild manner on the ground and on his back.
Chip has been adopted to a wonderful family in Chandler, Oklahoma. Chip is going to be a great addition to Camp David, where he will spend his time receiving lots of love and attention from many children. We are thrilled to see Chip going to such a wonderful family and organization.
