Lady came into our rescue program October 28, 2004. Lady came from the Jones Livestock Auction when a friend went to check out the Tack sale and saw her poor condition and called me. I knew that I could not in good conscience leave her behind. Her eyes appeared so sad and her spirit weak. Lady appears to be in her early 20's. She immediately lit up when we got her home. She is eating well and really seems to be in good spirits. She appears to have had some type of injury on her left side of her face. Her feet are in extremely bad condition and she is wormy. We plan to get her back in shape and pray for a full recovery. If you would like to assist in Lady's recovery, donations are appreciated.
Update: Lady has made some real progress in her short time with us. She has gained most of her weight back and she is really starting to feel good. She runs and bucks and plays through out the pasture and really seems to enjoy life again. To think, it wasn't very long ago that she was standing in that sell barn, nearly starved and looked as though she had given up on the world and the people that lived it. We gave her hope and freedom to be a horse and she is loving it. Lady is available for adoption. She is mildly foundered in her front feet, but with shoes on she can be sound for light riding. She is sweetest horse and loves attention. She deserves the best home.
Lady has been adopted to a wonderful family in Newcastle, Oklahoma. She has been adopted with Missy and Pistol, where they will be going to some great kids and lots of land to run and enjoy themselves on. It is so wonderful when these guys get adopted with their companion horses.
