Livia came into our rescue program on February 27, 2009. Livia came in with 19 other horses from an Animal Cruelty Case in Garvin County. 23 horses were found starved in rural Garvin County, unfortunately, 3 of them had to be euthanized due to the extreme nature of their neglect. Livia is a beautiful Dun, BLM, Mustang, Mare. Livia is estimated to be 6 years of age. Livia is confirmed to be pregnant and due within the next week or so. She is emaciated! We hope that we can get enough nutrients in Livia before she foals. We will update on her adoption status as she improves. Please consider making a donation towards Livia's rehabilitation.
Update Livia: Livia foaled a beautiful and healthy Steel Gray Colt on March 20, 2009. Livia is still gaining weight but she is doing great. Both momma and baby are seeking a loving, forever home together to call their own. Livia is a sweet girl, she can be hard to catch, but once you have her she is fine! I think that both momma and baby could be great horses with a little time and love. If you are interested in giving these two sweethearts a loving home, please submit an application. Livia has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance.
Update 5/15/2010: Livia is now available for adoption without her foal Bolt. Bolt is now a year old and has found his forever, loving home. Now, sweet Livia is seeking her forever, loving home. Livia is a Mustang and is a bit aloof. She needs somebody that can spend time with her daily and allow her to trust. She is much more advanced than when dealing directly with a Wild Mustang, but she will require some patience, time, and love. She seems interested in what you are doing, she just hasn't allowed herself to give in. She is halter broke and broke to lead. She doesn't try to hurt you when being caught, she is just a little nervous. If you are familiar with dealing with horses, then she will be easy to work with, if you have the time daily. She is responding to my daughters very well. Unfortunately, we just don't have the time throughout the day to give her the attention and time that she needs. She is a sweet girl and will make someone an excellent horse. Livia has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come see Livia.
Update July 2012 Livia is now available for adoption and seeking her forever, loving home. Livia was returned to our rescue, due to unforeseen family issues. Livia was returned late last year and has since spent some time in training with Robert Hayes. Livia is now broke to ride and will make someone an excellent trail/pleasure horse. She does great with all the obstacles on the trails, including riding through the creek. She is extremely smart. Livia is doing great under saddle. She can still be difficult to catch, but once caught, she is an excellent horse. Livia is a super sweet horse, stands for the farrier, and loads in a trailer. Livia has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Livia.
Livia has been adopted to a wonderful family in Wellston, Oklahoma. Livia is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in her forever, loving home. We are thrilled that this sweet girl will receive the unlimited amount of love and attention she deserves from her forever, loving family.
