Moonshine came into our rescue program on February 10, 2008. Moonshine came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division. Moonshine is a 3 year old, black, Thoroughbred Gelding. Moonshine was injured off of the track in late September, his injuries consisted of a fractured sesamoid and strained ligament. He did not receive proper surgery to correct the problem when the injury occurred. I am told that he previous owner gave Moonshine away after the accident. Moonshine was extremely thin upon arrival. We had our veterinarian examine Moonshine and according to the X-rays, Moonshine could handle light/moderate pasture riding. He won't be able to endure any type of rocky terrain or endurance type of riding. Moonshine is a sweet horse that has really been dealt a bad card. He gave all he could to run for his previous owners then discarded once he was injured. Moonshine is seeking a loving, forever home to call his own. Moonshine is up to date on vaccinations, deworming, hoof maintenance, and has a current negative coggins.
