Bogeybear came into our rescue program on July 24, 2010. Bogeybear is a Beautiful, Dark Bay, Thoroughbred, Gelding. Bogeybear is a previous race horse. He is registered through the Jockey Club and is 6 years old. Bogeybear stands about 17 hands tall. He is a sweetheart and very quiet. His previous owners loved him dearly and had fallen on hard times. They stated that he is broke to ride and has never offered to buck or rear. He would be a great trail/pleasure horse. Bogeybear is a perfect gentleman and such a gentle giant. This sweet boy loves attention and is eager to please. Bogeybear stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. He has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance.
Update 8/23/10 -- While we were riding Bogeybear the last time, we noticed a significant limp. We had our Veterinarian come out and take a look at Bogeybear. She determined that he had poor feet and recommended that he be placed in front shoes so that his soles can thicken and his heals can grow. He just seemed a bit tender footed, but now with the front shoes on, he is doing great. This is not a long term situation and will not always require shoes, unless you are trail riding and he may need them since he is a bit tender footed. Bogeybear is a gentle giant and will make someone an excellent horse. This sweet boy loves attention and is eager to please. Bogeybear stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. He has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy and giving him a forever, loving home, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Bogeybear.
