On May 1, 2009, from Beckham County, we rescued 40 horses, 12 Donkeys and a mule that were severely starved and neglected in Sayre, Oklahoma. Neighbors reported seeing several dead animals on the property to the Beckham County Sheriff's Office on April 28, 2009. Approximately 45 horse carcasses were located in different states of decomposition. The remaining 52 horses were found infested with internal and external parasites, injuries left untreated, hooves in extremely poor condition, some pregnant, one with a dislocated hip and another with a broken leg and body conditions ranging from a 1 to a 3. None of these horses were being properly cared for or had received proper Veterinary care in quite some time. Some of the horses hooves had growth over a year old. This is by far, one of the worst rescues we have seen. These horses have suffered a great deal. However, the ones that did not make it, suffered more than should have been allowed. Horses were found dead, where they had dug themselves a hole and clearly suffered and died. It was devastating! We were able to save 52 horses, all of which are doing wonderful! These horses will never have to suffer the hands of such horrible neglect again. Please consider making a donation towards the rehabilitation of these wonderful horses. |

Ditto came into our rescue program on May 1st, 2009 from Beckham County. Ditto is a Beautiful, Palomino, QH, Gelding. He is estimated to be 4 1/2 years of age! He was a body score of a 3 upon arrival, weighing in at 664 pounds, infested with ticks, lice and internal parasites. Ditto has been dewormed, treated for lice/ticks, had his feet trimmed, current negative coggins, and is gaining weight wonderfully. He is an awesome boy, great disposition and very loving... |

Chief came into our rescue program on May 1st, 2009 from Beckham County. Chief is a Beautiful, Palomino/White, Paint, Gelding. He is estimated to be 3 1/2 years of age! He was a body score of a 2 upon arrival, weighing in at 770 pounds, infested with ticks, lice and internal parasites. Chief has been dewormed, treated for lice/ticks, had his feet trimmed, current negative coggins, and is gaining weight wonderfully. He will be getting his teeth floated soon and should be available for adoption within 30 days. He is an awesome boy, great disposition and very loving... |

Valentine came into our rescue program on May 1st, 2009 from Beckham County. Valentine is a Beautiful, Black/White, Paint, Mare. She is estimated to be 4 years of age! Timmy came into our rescue program on April 20, 2009. Timmy came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division along with Brady. Timmy is a sweet, 8 month old, Colt. He is such a good boy, loves attention, halter broke and broke to lead. Timmy is coming along very nicely and he is finally getting rid of all that matted, winter hair... |

Brady came into our rescue program on April 20, 2009. Brady came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division along with Timmy. Brady is a beautiful, Appaloosa Stud. He is estimated to be 7 years of age. He is a sweet boy, very well mannered for a Stud. He has taken very good care of Timmy, who came in with him... |

King came into our rescue program on April 20, 2009. King came to us when the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Deputy saw him at the Jones Livestock Auction and immediately took action, he called us and requested that we come pick up this sweet boy. King is extremely emaciated! This sweet boy is estimated to be 24 years of age. He has the King Ranch brand and I am sure that he is an awesome horse. We just need to get him back to his prime... |

Ransom came into our rescue program on January 18, 2009. Ransom is a beautiful, 6 year old, Bay, Thoroughbred Gelding. Ransom was injured off the track several months ago with a pulled tendon. Since his injury he has started Cribbing, which I believe he developed due to stress and depression. He no longer had a job and became bored. Ransom needs to put on some weight, but his tendon is fine and he shows no signs of lameness. He is getting some much needed attention and joining a herd, where hopefully, his cribbing will decrease a bit. He is such as Sweet boy! Very loving, such sweet eyes and would make someone an excellent horse... |

Patty came into our rescue program on March 23, 2009. Patty came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division. Patty is emaciated, infested with parasites and appears to have had her back legs caught in a fence at one time. She does not show any signs of lameness. She is a very sweet girl, loads in a trailer, and has a very sweet disposition with Kind eyes... |

Priscilla came into our rescue program on January 16, 2009. Priscilla is a 3 year old, Chestnut, Thoroughbred Filly that was injured during race training, as she jumped out of the starter box and broke her pelvis. You can clearly see her Pelvis is not at all where it should be. She is a sweet girl! She deserves a fighting chance. I do not believe that she will ever be ride-able, but hopefully, she can be a comfortable companion/pasture pet... |

He is known as Remington's Gold and was one of the first horses to race at Remington Park. Blondie came into our rescue program on September 24, 2008. Blondie came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division as a Cruelty Case. Blondie is a sweet, Palomino, Mare. She is estimated to be around 20 years of age. She is very emaciated, infested with parasites, appears to have blown her knee out at one point in her life, and has a Uterine Infection. Nemo came into our rescue program on July 5, 2008. Nemo is a sweet, 4 year old, Bay, Quarter Horse, Gelding. Nemo is about 14 hands tall. He has a large sarcoid above his Right Eye and one on his Right Shoulder. Our Veterinarian has removed both sarcoids on July 7, 2008. He looks great, but will take about a month of healing time before he will be available for adoption... |

Elvis came into our rescue program on September 27, 2007. Elvis came in with 1 other horse that was severely neglected and starved, both had wounds all over their body, and infested with parasites. These horses were being ridden in their current condition. Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office investigated these horses and called us to seize and rehabilitate. Lakoda came into our rescue program on May 20, 2006. Lakoda (is an Indian tribe that believed horses were a gift sent to them from the Heavens) is an extremely sweet Mare. Surprise, It's a Boy! Turner (aka) Doc, came into our rescue program March 14, 2005. Turner is an 5 year old registered quarter horse gelding. Turner has already gone through a great deal in his short 5 years of life. Turner had been sent to a horse trainer by his previous owners to be trained to ride. Unfortunately, the trainer was extremely rough with Turner resulting in breaking his Withers Bone. The following horses were rescued from Oklahoma County on September 29, 2006. 36 horses were removed from one location in Spencer, Oklahoma. Many of these horses were extremely Starved and Neglected, their body scores ranged from a 1 to a 4. We will never forget the seizure of these horses and their unbelievable living conditions. |

Brandy is a 10 year old Paint Mare. Brandy was also in extremely poor condition and barely able to walk. Her feet were full of abscesses and had not received proper hoof care in a year. She is a sweet mare and the mother of Briscoe. Brandy has received her first trimming and we are still treating all her abscesses. She has a long road of recovery ahead of her... |
