Darcy

Darcy came into our rescue on November 6, 2010. Darcy was seized along with 12 other horses from the City of Edmond. Darcy is a Beautiful, Sorrel, Quarter Horse, Mare. She is estimated to be 6 years of age. Darcy is a body score of a 3, infested with internal/external parasites. She has a mass on the abdomen that requires biopsy and histopathology for identification. It would appear to be a sarcoid, but we will check it to be sure. Darcy has improved considerably since she first arrived. The first two pictures were taken the day of the seizure and the bottom two pictures were taken one week later. It is amazing what some time, attention, deworming and a good nutritional diet can do. We will update as Darcy improves with her adoption status. Please consider making a donation towards Darcy's rehabilitation.

Update May 14, 2011 Darcy was picked for our Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. She was chosen by Trainer Robert Hayes. Robert will be working with Darcy for the next 100 days, turning Darcy into a dependable riding companion. Robert will be going against 10 other Trainers in our Trainer's Challenge. Competition is set for August 20th, 2011 at the "Heart of Oklahoma" Shawnee Expo Center. For additional information regarding our Trainers Challenge, please visit our trainer's challenge website and follow your favorite Trainer/Rescue Horse on their journey to competition. Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. Darcy will be available for adoption immediately following the competition on August 20th, 2011. Darcy is a sweet girl and loves attention. Darcy had both sarcoids removed and is doing great. Darcy has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting Darcy, please submit an adoption application and get your pre-approved status, in order to adopt Darcy or one of our other Rescued Horses competing on August 20th.

Darcy has been adopted to a wonderful family in Gainesville, Texas. Darcy is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in her forever, loving home. Darcy's family witnessed Darcy doing remarkable things by her Trainer Robert Hayes at the Trainers Challenge. Darcy is a very willing, sweet girl that deserves the best. We are thankful to Robert Hayes for helping Darcy find that forever, loving home she deserved.
