Durango came into our rescue program on July 6, 2012. Durango came from Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division as a cruelty case along with 2 other horses. Durango is a Beautiful, Bay, Quarter Horse, Gelding. He is a body score of a 1, infested with internal/external parasites. Durango is estimated to be 5 years of age. Durango is a super sweet and very smart. He stands for the farrier and loads in the trailer. He has such a sweet disposition and loves attention. We will update as he progresses. Please consider making a donation towards Durango's rehabilitation.
Update October 2012 Durango is now seeking his forever, loving home. Durango has gained a lot of weight and looking great. Durango is a sweet boy and loves attention. Durango is broke to ride. We would recommend some tune up time in a round pen or small enclosed area, as it appears he hasn't been ridden in quite some time. He just needs some refresher lessons and he will be good to go. He will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time and love. Durango has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. If you would like to give this sweet boy a forever, loving home, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Durango.
Update December 2015 Durango returned to our rescue program over a year ago. He has been here just being a horse, due to not having all the training he needs to be in a forever, loving home. Durango is a highly intelligent horse and with the right tools and training, he will succeed and make someone an awesome horse. We are thrilled that Durango is now in training with Kelci Goad at Saddle Up Horsemanship for the next 60 days. Kelci Goad is available for lessons with adopter and Durango to assure a wonderful partnership. You can see videos and follow some of Durango's progress on Kelci's facebook page at: Kelci's Blaze's Horses. Durango will make someone an excellent horse. We encourage you to follow his progress and schedule an appointment to visit Kelci and Durango. He can be adopted while in training and you as the adopter can be involved in the training process. You can't beat this deal. Kelci is a wonderful teacher and she can assist you with a wonderful lasting relationship with your horse, on the ground and on his back. What is the best way to build a bond and a lasting relationship, then joining the trainer and know how to properly handle your horse? His adoption fee is a steal, if you think of the cost of training alone. Durango has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, dental and hoof maintenance. If you would like to adopt this sweet boy, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Durango today.
