Gidget came into our rescue program on June 13, 2010. Gidget came from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division. Gidget is a Beautiful, Sorrel, Quarter Horse, Mare. She is estimated to be 11 years of age. Gidget is pretty thin and needs to gain some weight. She also has a significant wound on her withers from a saddle sore. It appears that someone continued to ride her, despite the pain of the wound. She is a super sweet girl and loves attention. She will need to gain some weight and her wounds will need to heal before placing her available for adoption. We will update as she progresses. Please consider making a donation towards Gidget's rehabilitation.
Update 10/5/10 -- Gidget is now seeking her forever, loving home. Gidget's withers have healed and she had a leg injury that has healed as well. Gidget is super sweet, loves attention, very calm and laid back. She is broke to ride and will make someone an excellent riding horse. Gidget is very pigeon toed, but it does not affect her at all. She has probably been that way all her life. I am sure that it could have been easily prevented if she had received corrective trimming as a foal. Gidget stands about 15 hands tall. She gets along great with other horses. Gidget stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. Gidget has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Gidget.
Gidget has been adopted to a wonderful family in charleston, Illinois. Gidget is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten. Gidget has found a very special family. They traveled from Illinois to see Cupid and of course, fell in love twice. Gidget and Cupid have made their way home to Illinois and both will receive all the love and attention that they deserve. We are so happy that these two special horses, have found such a wonderful family to call their own.
