Lady Norwegian

Lady NorwegianLady Norwegian

Lady Norwegian came into our rescue program on April 11, 2011. Lady Norwegian was an owner surrender. Lady Norwegian is estimated to be 25 years of age. She is a Beautiful, Chestnut, Thoroughbred, Mare. Lady Norwegian was infested with internal/external parasites, her feet were in horrendous shape, still holding shoes on that were probably placed on her feet nearly a year ago. Her teeth were in horrible condition. Lady Norwegian is finally starting to gain some much needed weight. Lady Norwegian is a former race horse. Lady Norweigian raced 51 times, with 4 firsts, 6 seconds, and 9 thirds. Her total earnings though were only $26,544. She raced at 7 different racetracks from 1988 to 1992. Those tracks were Oaklawn Park (AR), Trinity Meadows (TX), Remington Park, Will Rogers Downs, Fair Meadows, Blue Ribbon Downs and Ak-sar-ben (in Omaha, NE which was closed years ago). She stayed sound and mentally stable after all that. She's a real survivor and deserves to enjoy her last years stress free and not to have to go hungry any longer. After her racing career Lady Norwegian went on to become a lesson horse and taught many kids and adults how to ride. Once she puts the weight back on, she would be a great beginners horse for a child, to just learn the basics and give Lady lots of love and attention. Lady Norwegian has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in giving this sweet girl the forever, loving home that she deserves, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Lady Norwegian.
