Lark

Lark came into our rescue program on July 13, 2017. Lark came into our rescue program as an Owner Surrender. Lark is a Bay, Quarter Horse, Mare. Lark is estimated to be 5 years of age. Lark came to us very scared, not halter broke and had a large wound on her face and near her eye. Lark is super sweet girl and I think she wants to trust but she can't get over her fear. We had Lark seen by our Veterinarian and found her sores to be summer sores. We got them cleaned up, dewormed her and placed a fly mask on her for the wounds to heal. They healed up beautifully. She accepted us doctoring her wounds well, but wasn't as easy to teach to be haltered and lead. With a lot of time and patience, this beautiful girl is now Halter broke and broke to lead. She is ready for training. She needs an experienced trainer to take her to the next level. She is a beautiful girl and very well built. Lark loads in a trailer but needs work standing for the farrier. Lark has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating, and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting this beautiful girl, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Lark.

Update September 2020 Lark is still seeking her forever, loving home. Lark is a beautiful girl and will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time and training. Lark is now 8 years old and stands at 14.2 hands tall. Lark is halter broke and broke to lead. She is very aloof but once caught, she seems to enjoy attention. Lark needs work standing for the farrier and loading in a trailer. She is ready for training and a family to call her own. She needs an experienced trainer to take her to the next level. She is a beautiful girl and very well built. Lark has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating, and hoof maintenance. Update April 2021 We have decided that Lark needed additional time in training than what the competition allowed. Robert did a lot with Lark but she wasn't quite ready for the next step of being ridden. We will be seeking training for Lark once the competition is complete where she can receive training at her pace and not within a time constraint. She can be adopted without additional training, but we would certainly encourage anyone interested in adopting this beautiful girl to seek additional training. She has a lot of potential and will make someone an excellent horse with the right amount of time and patience. Lark has come leaps and bounds to where she used to be. She has great ground manners and does great with ground work. Robert is going to be competing on Farmer, check out his bio and plan to adopt one of the amazing horses in the challenge this year. Lark stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. Lark has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, dental and hoof maintenance.
