Oreo came into our rescue program on April 06, 2013. Oreo came from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office along with 62 other horses and 3 Llama's as a severe cruelty case. Seminole County investigated an animal cruelty case consisting of over 120 animals, where several carcasses were found. Sadly, for many horses, help came too late. We were able to assist Seminole County and save 63 horses and 3 Llama's from neglect. Oreo is a Beautiful, Black/White, Paint, Mare. Oreo is estimated to be 7 years of age. Oreo is emaciated with a body score of a 2. She is infested with internal/external parasites, has rain rot and is moderately anemic. She is super sweet and very smart. You can see how much Oreo has improved in just 60 days. The top 2 pictures of Oreo are the day of the seizure and the bottom 2 pictures are just 60 days later. She loads in a trailer and stands for the farrier. Oreo has a long road of recovery ahead of her. We will update as she progresses. Please consider making a donation towards Oreo's Rehabilitation.
Update January 2014 Oreo is now seeking her forever, loving home. Oreo is super sweet but very aloof. She is difficult to catch and will need some work on her ground manners. She is very smart, but will require a patient trainer. She will react if pushed, but responds great to slow, gentle training. She needs work standing for the farrier. I know with the right amount of time, training and attention, she will make someone an excellent horse. Oreo has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating, and hoof maintenance. Oreo has also been freeze branded and micro chipped for her protection. If you would like to give this beautiful girl the forever, loving home she deserves, please submit an adoption application or call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Oreo.
Oreo has been adopted to a wonderful family in Allen, Texas. Oreo is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in her forever, loving home. We are thrilled that this sweet girl found the forever, loving family she deserves where she will receive a lot of love and attention.
