Zayn

Zayn came into our rescue program on November 28, 2016. Zayn came from the Logan County Sheriff's Office as a cruelty case along with 4 other horses. Sadly, when we arrived on the scene one horse was down, emaciated and had been struggling for quite some time. Nicholas/Nigel only weighed 528 pounds, which was half of his body weight. He was extremely neglected and went without far to long. We was able to move that horse off the property, but sadly lost him early the next morning. We are thankful that the others were removed before they suffered any long term affects and lost as much weight as the beautiful boy, Nicholas/Nigel that we lost. Zayn is a Beautiful, Bay, Arabian, Gelding. Zayn is estimated to be 10 years of age. Zayn is a super sweet boy and loves attention. Zayn loads in a trailer and stands for the farrier. We hope to bring you additional information about this sweet boy soon, as we prepare Zayn for adoption. Please consider making a donation towards Zayn's care.

Zayn was picked for our 6th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. He was chosen by Adult Trainer Amber McCollum. Amber will be working with Zayn for the next 132 days, turning Zayn into a dependable riding companion. Zayn will be going against 10 Adult Trainers in our Trainer's Challenge. We also have 5 Youth Trainers competing in our Trainer's Challenge. Competition is set for May 20, 2017 at the Heart of Oklahoma, Shawnee Expo Center, Shawnee, Oklahoma. For additional information regarding our Trainer's Challenge, please visit our trainer's challenge website and follow your favorite Trainer/Rescue Horse on their journey to competition. Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. Zayn will be available for adoption throughout the competition on May 20, 2017 through an all day silent auction. Zayn is a sweet boy and loves attention. Zayn has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, teeth floating and hoof maintenance. Zayn has also been freeze branded for his protection. If you are interested in adopting Zayn, please submit an adoption application and get your pre-approved status, in order to adopt Zayn or one of our other Rescued Horses competing on May 20, 2017.

Update May 23, 2017 Unfortunately, Zayn was not able to compete in our 6th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainers Challenge event due to Zayn running a fever the week of the Challenge. We felt it was best for everyone, horses, trainers and potential adopters to keep Zayn at home where he was being treated and limited the risk of exposure and stress on Zayn. We hate that Amber and Zayn had to miss out on the opportunity but certainly understand and feel that it was the best case scenario. The good news is, it did not hurt Zayn's changes for adoption. He has found his forever, loving home.

Zayn has been adopted to a wonderful family in Edmond, Oklahoma. Zayn is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in his forever, loving home. We are thrilled that this sweet boy found the forever, loving family he deserves where he will be showered with love and attention.
